St. Patrick’s Day in Downtown San Jose

March 17, 2010 | | Comments 4

Unfortunately there are no remaining Irish Pubs in downtown San Jose for alas their owners have drank themselves out of business, however this afternoon there will be no lack of St. Patrick’s Day cuisine.

The New York Bar is offering corned beef and cabbage dinner for c4,500. Unfortuantely, there is no mention of the free shot of Irish whisky that once accompaned this culinary delight.

Papi’s is offering perhaps the best deal, which is a corn beef dinner for c3,800. Papi’s seems to have really got into the Irish spirit as they offered a corned beef sandwich for just 100 colones (about 20 cents) all week long.

The sweet deal has now concluded but we have great expectations for the main event.

Chubbs is offering an Irish dinner special for c5,000.

Joe B and Karen’s Bar comes is offering a Ruben on Rye Bread for c2,500.

The Poas Bar isn’t planning on offering any special food, but a c1,500 special on Guinness has been announced.

The Gringo Starrs will also be making a special daytime appearance at the New York Bar. The party starts at 3pm so come on by and join the festivities.

St. Patty’s is always fun… people always find a way to celebrate it. For the green beer’s sake, of course… :D

    Happy St. Patrick’s day!!!

LOL Now you are “No.Cal. Refugee”?? Funny! And NO, I don’t forget quickly! I was just…. checking!

I went out for St. Pat’s yesterday and no bartender drew the little shamrock on the Guiness head…. one did try, though, with some edible green paint (!!!), total disaster!!

    Hope you had fun!
