15 countries request session to address crisis in Venezuela

Fifteen countries, including Costa Rica, requested a special session for Wednesday, April 26th, in which a resolution calling on the foreign ministers of the member states of the Organization of American States (OAS) would be approved.

This meeting would address the crisis in Venezuela, where the struggle between the government of Nicolás Maduro and the opposition has left dozens dead.

This was confirmed by Manuel González, chancellor of Costa Rica, through his Facebook page.

The problem in Venezuela worsened during the last days. The opposition of the Government calls for elections to be held as soon as possible, while the authorities pay no attention.

Thousands of Venezuelans in the streets also demand the release of political prisoners, who have been accused of making a call to demonstrate to the streets.
