15 Guatuso residents remain in shelter

About 15 people from Barrio El Carmen in Guatuso remain in a shelter enabled by the National Emergency Commission (CNE), due to the rains that hit the area since Wednesday morning.

Walter Fonseca, head of operations at CNE, said that the situation is under control.

The official added that the family evacuated in Cuatro Bocas de Upala, is now with relatives.

We enabled a shelter in San Rafael de Guatuso, for the evacuation of some families in Barrio El Carmen. They are 15 people, from about 4 families,”

said Fonseca.

On Wednesday, four communities woke up to flooded areas and they even had to be evacuated from places like: Cuipilapa in Bagaces, Santa Clara in Upala, Cuatro Voces in Upala and Jácamo in Upala.
