19,378,000 colones have been invested in Guanacaste’s road system

Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT) has allocated 1,550 million colones per month aimed to maintain and fix Guanacaste’s road system. Between July 2015 and June 2016, Guanacaste received an investment of 19,378,000 colones for maintenance, restoration and improvements of the national road network.

Through Roads and Bridges Preservation contracts, a 21-km highway between Filadelfia and Santa Cruz was restored. 2,214 million colones were invested.

In Santa Cruz and Carrillo 4,469 million colones were invested in 149 km. In addition, road maintenance in 2-1 area (Liberia) meant an expenditure of 3,477 million colones.

In Birmania and Santa Cecilia (Liberia) an investment of 114 million colones was made.

Minister Carlos Villalta explained that there is still left an investment of 1,585 million colones in the area.
