250 penitentiary police officers finished their training

On Thursday morning, 250 penitentiary policemen from all over the country graduated from various trainings granted by the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights, located in San José.

The graduation took place in the gym of the Comprehensive Care Unit La Reforma, in San Rafael de Alajuela.

The promotion was excellent,

said Pablo Bertozzi, director of the Penitentiary Police.

In addition to receiving training on humanitarian issues, officials attended courses in customer service, food handling, weapon use, and handling of emergency vehicles.

Rigoberto Ortiz, a policeman from Sandoval Prison in Limón, said that the work was excellent.

The knowledge acquired is broader, which is very good for our profession,

said Ortiz.

On this issue, Cecilia Sánchez, Minister of Justice and Peace, said that this type of training had very high quality content, which will be very valuable for the penitentiary system.
