Officers from the National Coast Guard Service of the Ministry of Public Security rescued three Americans drifting away in Pacific waters on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred several kilometers from Quepos, Puntarenas.

Official reports indicate that Coast Guard was alerted about a boat with a damaged engine that had been swept by sea currents.

After a search of the area, the agents located the American boat and immediately aided its three occupants.

They were tourists Charles Dunn, James Kim and Jae Shin, who were offered hydration before being towed to Quepos, safe and sound.

According to the foreigners, the engine was shut down near Palo Seco River.

Apparently, they had been drifting for several hours and if not for the National Coast Guard, they would be out in the sea in serious trouble.
