33 Fake Food Handling Certificates were confiscated

The Health Ministry confiscated 33 fake food handling certificates with various irregularities in the tents from the exhibition field of Zapote.

This was confirmed by Guillermo Flores, director of the Central-South region of San José.

We conducted an investigation with different directors of these areas and many of the certificates were confiscated because they do not match the signatures and stamps,”

said Flores.

Once the fault is confirmed, the administrator of the tent is warned, so that the person with the fake document stops handling food immediately.

According to the official, the “fiestas de Zapote” continue with adequate food security. The latest samples have come out clean, without harmful bacteria.

Out of 350 samples taken to date, only 7 meals came with some degree of contamination by bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes and staphylococcus.
