44 domestic employees were insured online

In just two days, 44 domestic employees were insured by their employers through the platform of the Centralized Collection System (Sicere).

Gustavo Picado, financial manager of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), said that employers exceeded expectations and even had many inquiries both in person and on the online platforms that the institution put to the service of the population.

This new modality seeks to increase coverage to this vulnerable population. It should be noted that the possibility of insuring domestic workers is available since 1973. However, of the 172 thousand people who work in this field in the national territory, only 15% are correctly insured, so the institution determined the need to make the process easier.

To this end, a step-by-step tutorial was prepared for the population (you can click here).

The entire Sicere platform is also available through the online chat found on the CCSS home page. You can also make inquiries to the Sicere Contact Center by calling 25-39-1600.
