A total of 50 families paraded on Sunday afternoon in the 2017 march of diversity.

They were made up of two dads or two moms. They walked with the intention of supporting homo-parental adoption in Costa Rica.

Some debate if we have the right to adopt, but we are already here. We already exist, we already have the children,”

commented Niza Sáenz, from the foundation of homo-parental families.

Many have adopted children as single parents or abroad. This is the case of Gary and Andy, who adopted Logan, a child from the UK.

The minor was separated from his mother, as she had problems with drug addiction and was given to this couple living in La Guácima de Alajuela.

We haven’t had any problems. There is a bit of discrimination, but those people don’t know us,”

said the foreigners.
