Those who do not abide by the transit regulations regarding the closure of the bridge over Virilla River in the General Cañas highway will be sanctioned with a 51,300 colones fine, according to an announcement by the Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Carlos Villalta.
Villalta stated that they will be strict to enforce the law, as they have been clear in each of the situations that will occur on Saturday, when the transit will be limited in both directions after the closure of the bridge.
Those who do not observe the provisions of the schedules established for public transport, ranging from 6 to 9 am and from 4 to 7 pm will be fined, and those drivers that interrupt or slow the transit in the lane will also be fined.
According to Mario Calderón, director of the Traffic Police, 27 officers will be responsible for making regulations from the Juan Santamaria Airport, the crossing Barrial de Heredia, as well as in the bridge Juan Pablo Segundo in the direction towards Alajuela.
