Eighty children from Guanacaste will no longer walk to school. A group of private companies came together to give bicycles to those in need and the best students in the area.

Each of the beneficiaries received their new means of transport on Thursday.

In total, the Cepia Association chose 8 schools in the area and gave 10 bicycles: 5 for children in extreme poverty and 5 for the best students.

The beneficiary schools are:

Hernández School of Villa Real
El Llanito School
School La Garita Nueva
School of Matapalo
School of Cartagena
School of Brasilito
Santa Rosa School
School of Huacas

The CEPIA association (NGO) joined DHL and the JW Marriott Guanacaste for the campaign. Ashley Guido, one of the beneficiaries, is in the fourth grade at Cartagena School and said that her new bicycle will save her time walking.
