Lewison Wood, a renowned British explorer, will show to the European television the climb of the Chirripó Mountain, as well as the experience of visiting Costa Rican forests.

Wood, who was in the country during October and November, included Costa Rica as part of the destinations to be visited for his ‘Walking The Americas’ program.

The production will air on Channel 4. This explorer is a frequent collaborator of other great corporations such as National Geographic, BBC, Discovery Channel and The Sunday Telegraph.

‘Walking The Americas’ compiles Wood’s experience over a distance of thousands of miles between Mexico and Colombia.

Wood is remembered in his country for similar productions such as ‘Walking the Nile’ and ‘Walking the Himalayas’.

The explorer, who is also a writer, was part of the British armed forces as a parachutist and he was in Afghanistan in 2008.

It is a small country, but Costa Rica has a tremendous amount of things to offer to adventure travelers. More than 100 volcanoes, white-sand beaches and virgin forests. The country has more than 5% of species of plants and animals in the world: It sounded like heaven on earth to me,

declared Wood for The Sunday Times .

It is unknown when the episodes on Costa Rica will air.
