A convicted released on parole caught selling drugs

Police arrested on Wednesday afternoon a convict, who was released from prison to serve the rest of his sentence on house arrest, for selling drugs.

The man, identified by the surnames Atavia Jiménez, served just one year in prison for a 6-year sentence for selling drugs.

According to the police, the man allegedly began selling drugs 6 months after leaving prison.

However, a justice ministry spokesman denied to the press that the man had received the benefit of house arrest.

Recently the policy of granting parole to the convicts is being criticized because one of its beneficiaries allegedly raped a woman.
