A man was sentenced to 3 years in prison but he will not go to jail

The Criminal Court of San José sentenced to three years in prison a bus driver surnamed Campos Campos for Marlon Evans Salazar’s death, which occurred in May 2013 in Paseo Colón.

Campos was convicted for the crime of involuntary manslaughter. However, he will not go to jail because he will enjoy the conditional execution of the sentence for a period of 5 years.

However, the judges declared that both Campos and the company for which he worked for must pay 450 million colones for damages to Evans’ family.

The judges said that Campos committed a negligent act by making an improper turn and there is a video to prove it.

The facts occurred on May 30, 2013, when Campos Campos committed an improper turn and collided a car driven by engineer Marlon Evan Salazar.

After the impact, the car driven by Evans collided with a pole. The victim died hours later in the hospital.
