Officials from the National Coast Guard Service of the Ministry of Public Security rescued a pregnant sloth in Quepos.

The white animal was in a metal mesh of the Coast Guard headquarters. It was away from trees where it could feed itself and hide from possible predators.

The coast guards confirmed that the sloth had an advanced state of pregnancy. In addition, due to his condition, it was difficult for it to move and climb the branches .

After checking that it was not injured, the officials took the animal to a wooded area where they released it. It is possible that its babies are born in the coming days.
