Abelino Esquivel will try to charge ¢ 10 million to the party

Abelino Esquivel, representative of the Christian party Renovación Costarricense, assured that the party owes him 10 million colones that he will try to collect.

Esquivel gave this statement when the press asked him why he did not comply with the party’s requirement of giving 5% of his legislator’s salary.

The politician says that the management of the party, led by Justo Orozco, is so disorganized that they could not collect the political debt, so he was never reimbursed for the money, which, he ensures, exceed ¢ 10 million.

Despite the internal dispute, in which Orozco’s supporters approved a motion to declare Esquivel and Gonzalo Ramírez personae non gratae, the legislator insists on becoming a presidential candidate.

Esquivel firmly believes that the party is in urgent need of renewal, and celebrates the Supreme Court of Elections for endorsing the process of cantonal assemblies they were leading.

The legislator says he will consult his lawyer on how he can charge the party, and he will wait for the National Assembly to register his name.
