ACL: “magistrate Fernando Cruz should stop talking about Uber service and its operations in Costa Rica”

The Association of Free Consumers (ACL) filed a document before the Constitutional Court: it requested that judge Fernando Cruz stops giving his opinion on Uber service’s legality and the way it operates in Costa Rica.

Rogelio Fernández, director of the ACL, explained that the Association considers that Cruz’s request to taxi driver Rubén Vargas, at the end of 2016, was inappropriate.

13,000 taxis cannot kidnap 4 million people. The competition is good and we hope that magistrate Cruz voluntarily leaves in order not be involved in a process that would jeopardize the Chamber dignity,

declared the leader.

Fernández said that the Constitution allows Costa Ricans to freely choose and he expects that the ruling is known in the coming weeks.
