Alert over choppy sea on Caribbean beaches

The strong winds will cause choppy sea in the national Caribbean, so there will be waves up to 2.4 meters high in the coming days. The conditions will be risky for small boats and bathers.

The choppy sea conditions will remain until Saturday, as confirmed by oceanographer Omar Lizano, from the Center for Research in Marine Sciences and Limnology (CIMAR).

In the North Pacific, winds of up to 55 km/h are expected, which will generate choppy seas in this area, mainly offshore. The main risk in this area is for small boats that travel about 40 kilometers from the coast.

On the other hand, in the Central and South Pacific, only average waves are expected.
