A suspected human trafficker was arrested on Monday, after nearly running over Border Police officers in Los Chiles sector.
The police were conducting a roadblock, near a border area with Nicaragua, when they stopped a suspicious vehicle. The driver accelerated to escape at great speed and almost ran over the officers.
The police began a persecution and finally caught the man named Cabrera, who was travelling with four Nicaraguans, including a woman, all with an irregular migratory situation.
The foreigners entered the country by an unlicensed sector of El Cebichito de Tablillas, canton of Los Chiles. Cabrera remains with pending precautionary measures.
