Almost 8,000 MEP employees were absent on Thursday

10% of the workers of the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) (about 8,000 employees), were absent from work on Thursday, due to the strike called by the Association of Secondary School Teachers (APSE) in order to make a demonstration against the Public Employment bills. They protested in front of the Congress.

Teachers, janitors, cooks, librarians and others joint the demonstration.

The MEP declared that pay cuts are going to be applied to those who missed their responsibility. On previous occasions the ministry has also made that threat, however, the cuts have not been implemented.
