President Carlos Alvarado does not want to rush and recognize Juan Guaidó, president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, as the interim president of that country.
This Monday, Alvarado said that this is a subject that the government will have to analyze in light of the upcoming events that occur in the troubled Venezuela. However, the secretary general of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, did recognize Guaidó as interim president of that country.

said Alvarado.
Guaidó was arrested on Sunday for a few hours by the regime of Nicolás Maduro. Hours later he was released.
In addition to the secretary of the OAS, the vice president of the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament, Beatriz Becerra, also spoke on the issue and indicated that Guaidó assumed the constitutional mandate to lead Venezuela in the absence of a legitimate president.
On Friday, Guaidó said that, protected by articles 233, 333 and 350 of the Constitution of Venezuela and after affirming that Nicolás Maduro is usurping power, he assumed the interim presidency and the responsibility of calling for free elections.
