Amazing whale sighting on Cabuyal beach

Javier Elizondo spent the weekend at Cabuyal beach, in the company of his friend Andrés Echeverría. Both of them photographed a humpback whale mother and her offspring in that part of the North Pacific region of the country.

I was fortunate that the family of whales was about 200 meters from the beach […] Whales are an indicator of how we are taking care of the seas of our country,”

said Elizondo.

The young explorer has been searching for waterfalls throughout Costa Rica. He assures that these animals have always fascinated him because they return every year.

They are giants and spend most of their time underwater in an endless ocean looking for a couple and food. However, they return every year at this time to Costa Rica to teach their young the essentials to live. There is something special about these perfect temperatures where we live that makes such noble and intelligent animals want to come back,”

added Elizondo.

The architect called on people to care for and protect nature.

We should always want to see whales, protecting our oceans and rivers, respecting these animals for their beauty and how important they are for our country. I am convinced that if these waters were dirty and overfished we would never see this. It is a blessing that the water here is crystal clear and from time to time on a Sunday this kind of magical things happen. Let’s make a conscientious call to care for, respect and preserve the wildlife in Costa Rica,”

concluded the explorer.
