Ambassador of the Forest Campaign invites young people to care for the environment

The Magic Trees organization won third place in the Yo me Uno 2018 contest and managed to get the possibility of conducting a fundraising campaign through the system of the private bank BAC, with the project “Donate more than a tree”, where any person can donate through the web site Yo me Uno and 512 ATMs in the country during March.

According to Luis Mastroeni, manager of Sustainability of the financial institution,

at BAC we believe that with YoMeUno we can unite organizations that need the support of all Costa Ricans and give economic support for projects to be carried out.”

Fundación Árboles Mágicos will direct the funds towards the Forest Ambassadors initiative, which seeks to instruct a group of young people, empower them, and ” bio-literate” them to generate a change in the culture of each community, as well as a sustainable contribution in each neighborhood.

So we plan to form a group of young people who will become community leaders. We will give you all the knowledge of Magical Trees, both the “bio-literacy” and the methodology of the field activities so that they can replicate them in their communities and be multipliers of change,”

said María Elvira, communication spokesperson for Fundación Árboles Mágicos.

This initiative has a particular ingredient and it is the more than five thousand students that the organization has trained in culture of appreciation of trees in educational centers around the country, thanks to the agreement with the Ministry of Public Education (MEP).
