American sold Costa Rican archeological pieces on the Internet

The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) arrested a 69-year-old American man who is suspected of selling Costa Rican archaeological pieces on the Internet.

Apparently, the man sold each piece for $200. The agents conducted a raid and confiscated nine pieces valued at $ 1,500.

The case is being investigated since December 2016, when a complaint was lodged by the Department of Cultural Protection of the National Museum of Costa Rica. The American is suspected of violating the Archaeological Historical Heritage Law.

The suspect was placed under the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
