Americans are protesting across the United States over Trump’s victory

In several US cities, people expressed their dismay over Donald Trump’s victory in the election and vowed to reject the divisive attitude that, they believe, helped the Republican magnate to reach the White House.

In Washington, several hundred of demonstrators gathered outside the White House for a vigil on a cold afternoon, criticizing what they called Trump’s racism, sexism and xenophobia. They carried posters that stated “We have a voice” and “Education for all”.

One of the organizers, Ben Wikler, director of the MoveOn.org, told the participants that other groups were meeting in hundreds of communities across the country and they were sharing their concerns.

Winkler said that people have reasons to feel fear and in dark moments they are not alone. He received a chorus response from the crowd who shouted: “We are not alone!”.

The protests reached several cities, with thousands of people protesting in Chicago, Philadelphia, Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York and others.
