An American tourist was hit by a diplomatic vehicle in San José

An American tourist was hit by a vehicle in San José on February 18th.

She, and at least 3 witnesses, reported a Nissan brand vehicle, model X-Trail, plate 777669, as the person responsible for the incident and, according to the complaint, the person fled.

According to the National Registry, the vehicle involved would belong to the Ministry of the Presidency. The victim is called Folger and she is from Arizona:

I love this country, but I’m disappointed. My name is Shirley Folger and I am a 74-year-old American citizen. Last Saturday I was going to cross a street on Paseo Colón. It was 10:20 am and a 4 × 4 car suddenly appeared. The car came very close and when I realized that, it came straight to me. I could not react. The Nissan brand car hit me. I fell on the ground and my arms and legs started to bleed. The car slowed, and the people started yelling at the driver. They worte the plate number and then he suddenly left. I do not understand why the driver left. He noticed that he hit me. I saw him slow down and then he left. I had several injuries and the people who helped me called the Red Cross. The thing is that I live in Arizona and my flight was leaving (that day) at 2:00 pm. It was my second time in this country and I came here on a business trip. I love it, but now I will have to return in March to file charges. This week I could not go to work and 30 hours later I received medical attention.

After the incident, Julio Hernández helped the foreigner and he is one of the witnesses who supports her side of the story. He even wrote down the license plate number of the vehicle involved. Hernandez explained that the way the driver left was pretty terrible.
