Officers from the Flamingo Coast Guard Station in Santa Cruz of Guanacaste rescued an American tourist who had an accident in a kayak.

The accident occurred in Punta Sabana town, in Playa Conchal, where a wave apparently capsized the small boat in which the foreigner was traveling.

Thanks to the Coast Guard’s constant presence in this area, both to prevent crime and illegal fishing, the man was assisted by the staff in charge.

The officers managed to help 61-year-old American David Lewis, who was taken to port in good conditions.
