Antonio Álvarez will advocate to legalize Uber

The candidate for the presidency of the National Liberation Party, Antonio Álvarez Desanti, made it clear that in his government, Uber would be legal and level the field with red taxis.

We must approve the operation of Uber and put them to comply with insurance rules and requirements in terms of public transport safety,”

said the green and white candidate.

According to Álvarez, the legalization of the application could be made through a presidential decree once they reach the government, although they will study the implications and begin the drafting process of a bill to be approved by the Legislative Assembly.

Banning Uber would be like ICE, Claro and Movistar asking us to ban WhatsApp,”

said the candidate.

In recent months, the government of Luis Guillermo Solís gave the order to the Traffic Police to remove plates to those vehicles that provide service to the application. In addition, the Aresep already sanctioned two drivers who provided the service, who were fined millions.

The liberationist has promised in recent weeks housing for the lower and middle class, in addition to the creation of 150 thousand new jobs.
