Authorities suspend green alert in much of the country

The National Emergency Commission (CNE) reported that the National Meteorological Institute (IMN) suspened the green alert, due to the disappearance of the influence of the Subtropical Storm Alberto.

According to the entity, the measure includes the following regions: North Zone, North, Central and South Pacific, Central Valley, and the Caribbean Region. However, the IMN and the CNE, considering that the typical conditions of the rainy season or the country are maintained, recommend:

– Caution in areas vulnerable to flooding due to saturation of sewage systems due to the increase in river flows and prone to landslides in general.
-Take refuge in a safe place in case of hearing a thunderstorm or perceive strong gusts of wind near the storm clouds, as well as taking precaution due to possible trees falling on power lines, among others.
– Maintain caution mainly due to the possibility of flash floods in the north of the country.
