The authorities and the government are upset by the presence of some people that have nothing to do with aid organizations in Upala and surrounding areas.
Therefore, president Luis Guillermo Solís announced that the government will not allow private vehicles in the area, so that the works being carried out are not hindered.
There are people who are going to Upala to do what we have called ghoulish tourism, they come to see what they find or to take pictures,
said the President.
Solís indicated that the Traffic Police has orders to remove all vehicles that are not part of the relief brigades.
We do this so that ambulances and vehicles from the authorities have no obstacles,
said Solís.
The President sent a message to the public, asking not to go to Upala unless strictly necessary.
