AyA assumes control of Rural Aqueduct in Playa Potrero

ASADA tried to persuade the security forces not to take their facilities.

Fuerza Publica have taken control of an aqueduct in Potrero Beach in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste at the request of the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA). The Aqueduct was built by a community association in 1991 that uses the acronym ASADA. Police assisted officials from AyA in entering the water facilities and assuming control. Residents claim that Aya is under pressure from real estate developers in the area who need access to water in order to subdivide lots and sell them for residential projects.
