Bill to build a technology park at El Calvo cemetery is gaining ground

A bill that would allow the Municipality of San José to build a technology park and a study center for technological training on El Calvo cemetery advances in Congress .

The initiative was approved by the Government and Administration Commission of the Legislative Assembly.

The proposal intends that a portion of the cemetery stops being a state asset and becomes a patrimonial asset, but to do so it requires legislative authorization.

This would allow the Municipality of San José to build a facility that would be part of a high-tech corridor between La Sabana and Plaza Víquez.

The park space would be delivered to interested high-tech companies that would pay a fee for the use of the land.

The bill will now be in the legislative plenary for discussion and voting in the first and second readings.
