Buffalo production ventures into new fields

An organized group of 120 buffalo producers in the country has calculated that this activity has grown 1,166% in the last 42 years, according to estimates of the National Technical Unit, giving the sector more added value.

According to Eddy Murias, producer, they are entering the market with meat, milk and cheese, but it is important to note that this cattle is a source of biological balance in the farms, since they eat invasive plants. They are also multipurpose animals and they can breed in any region of the country, regardless of the altitude or any other factor.

However, buffalos give more than consumer products and other benefits on farms: they also provide company. They are very curious, attentive, gentle and approach humans with ease.

The group of producers will celebrate Father’s Day with a special event on June, 19th, in Valle de Ujarrás, Charrara Park in Paraíso de Cartago, where the whole family can enjoy and learn about these animals.
