Once again the Old Metropolis will be filled with colors and creative handcrafted products, in the traditional La Pasada Festival, which will be held on September 2nd and 3rd.

The opening will be on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the Plaza Mayor, in front of the Ruins. There, all the people will meet to witness the transfer of the image of the Virgin of the Angels from the Cathedral to the Basilica.

This traditional activity generally gathers about 65 thousand visitors, including people who come from various points to enjoy the tradition. The XII edition of the festival is organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Services of Cartago.

A total of 75 micro-entrepreneurs from the province will exhibit and sell their products and services, among them: handicrafts, traditional foods, textiles as well as banking, real estate and veterinary services, among others.

The festival will also offer marimba and masquerades, Zumba and yoga classes, folk dances and plays. A dance concert with the musical group Los Hicsos is scheduled for Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

Víctor Cisneros, president of the Chamber of Commerce, stressed that this is a space designed for the whole family.

It aims to collaborate with the small, medium and large entrepreneurs of the province, who prepare all year for this activity, hence our call for participation which allows a projection at the provincial and national level,”

said Cisneros.
