“Charlie Sinai” gang was caught after 17 robberies to luxury homes

They watched the houses for four days. Then they waited until there was no one in and an hour before the robbery, they sent a motorcycle that confirmed the absence of people.

Altogether, they burglarized 17 luxury houses of businessmen and foreigners.

The gang of “Charlie Sinai” sowed terror in the area of Belén. However, the group was dismantled on Tuesday in four raids carried out by the judicial police.

According to Pablo Calvo, head of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) of Heredia, at least 25 paintings by the painter Rafa Fernández (valued at about 25 million colones), oriental art sculptures and millions of dollars in cash were stolen from these homes.

The suspects are Herrera Monge, Solano Chinchilla and Rojas Moya. All of them have a record for robberies and scams.

The raids account for 10 million colones in cash, five thousand dollars and 4500 euros.

In addition, high-value women’s handbags and firearms were located.

The subjects committed robberies since 2016 and the last event occurred less than a month ago.

The areas where they operated are: Bosques de Doña Rosa residential, Los Arcos residential in Ciudad Cariari, Curridabat, Lindora and San Rafael de Escazú.

Apparently, the gang tried to sell the goods in the black market.
