“Chepe se baña” is not asking for money door to door

The organization “Chepe se baña” is not asking for money door to door or in the streets.
Mauricio Villalobos, from the Promundo Foundation, said they posted on the Facebook site some photographs of a woman who supposedly walks in Cartago and Tejar, posing as a Chepe se baña official and asking for money on behalf of the organization.

Several people have reported that there are several people collecting money in the streets, in San Pedro, Cartago and Tejar, in several places; so I started asking for pictures and they sent me those and I encouraged them to publish them and several people have said they have seen it,”

said Villalobos.

According to users of social networks, the woman walks with a jar labeled “Chepe se baña”.

I think this is outrageous (…) A person from Cartago called me and told me that if we were asking for money for the houses and we aren’t, we receive donations through the accounts of the Promundo Foundation or when we do activities whit the bus ‘Chepe se baña’, not door to door,”

said Villalobos.

“Chepe se baña” works with the homeless population, bringing clothes, food and offering them a shower. On a regular basis, they are in the capital’s parks thanks to the help of volunteers and people who donate basic necessities.
