Civil Registration makes final decision about identity cards

Last week, Luis Guillermo Chinchilla, the director of Civil Registration, explained that they evaluated 10 complaints from citizens who felt that to place the parents’ names in the ID again was a setback.

However, on Wednesday, authorities assured that there is not turning back and they have already given a reason to each of the arguments.

The position of the Civil Registry remains. The identity card must have many identification elements within the document itself. Actually, that information was removed just for printing reasons,

declared María José Alvarado, Policy management consultant for the Supreme Electoral Court.
