ON Friday, the National Coast Guard helped the crew of a US sailboat, which suffered mechanical problems.

The action was in charge of officers of the Coast Guard Station of Golfito, who went to the vicinity of Punta Burica, on the border with Panama to aid the American ship that began to show mechanical problems since it was in Panamanian waters.

To provide support, the officers managed to contact the boat, identified as Mirage. The boat had problems with the propeller drive bar, so it was running at low speed.

There were two Americans on board, including the captain, identified as Charles Silvers, as well as a woman named Ann Silvers, who accompanied the Panamanian Alexander Filenonomeir Green.

These people were escorted to Golfito, where they arrived in perfect health, after which they were going to proceed to repair their ship to continue heading towards Mexico.
