Commission will analyze the problems of Castella’s Conservatory

In the coming days a commission will be created to address the concerns and problems of Castella’s Conservatory.

A few weeks ago, a group of parents of that institution expressed their discomfort because they have repeatedly requested the inclusion of equity programs from the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), but they have had no response.

Mauricio Azofeifa, MEP spokesman, explained that they held a meeting with Marco Fallas, Deputy Minister of Education, on Wednesday, and it was agreed that a commission should analyze their situation.

Castella is a flagship institution of Costa Rican art and culture… It is not properly characterized as an existing form but as a special form that must be effectively regulated,”

said Azofeifa.

The commission will be in charge of assessing infrastructure, academics, appointments, dining rooms and transport, as well as the possibility of physical relocation of the institution.
