Constitutional Court rejects case challenging tax for online purchases

The Constitutional Court rejected on Wednesday, a case that challenged the practice of charging taxes for items purchased abroad and sent to Costa Rica. Items brought into the country by travelers or which are sent as gifts are are entitled to a $500 exemption. The case questioned this as unequal treatment.
