Costa Rica and Honduras meet again

President of the republic, Luis Guillermo Solís, received his Honduran counterpart, Juan Orlando Fernández. They discussed issues regarding drug trafficking and regional security. He also apologized for not being able to go to the Central American Integration System (SICA) summit, which will be held from June 28th to June 30th, ending Honduras pro tempore chairmanship. He’ll attend the Pacific Alliance Forum instead.

Solís is expecting a statement from SICA regarding immigration and a constitutional reform on the matter. Honduras’ president, on the other hand, reminded that his country showed a great support during the Cuban immigration crisis. Fernández pointed out that despite having overcome the crisis, future measures need to be discussed.
