Costa Rica supports dialogue in Bolivia

The Costa Rican government supported a dialogue that guarantees social peace and a way out of the political crisis in Bolivia after the resignation of former president Evo Morales.

Through a statement, the Foreign Ministry said that the country is following with attention the serious events that have been unleashed in Bolivia and expressed its full support for dialogues to ensure social peace and understanding among Bolivians.

Costa Rica calls for respect for democratic institutions, the freedom to choose and the peaceful and constructive dialogue that should guide our peoples. Costa Rica urges all efforts to avoid violence and votes for a full return to a normal state in which dialogue, civil and Constitutional order prevail. The government of Costa Rica remains attentive and in permanent consultations at the inter-American level to ensure that institutional mechanisms and peace prevail,”

said the Presidential House in a statement.
