Costa Rica will improve the national aerodromes

Costa Rica will bet on improving the different aerodromes located in the tourist areas of the country. The objective is clear: to improve the facilities to attract a greater number of visitors.

The Civil Aviation Directorate (DGAC) plans to invest more than $ 20 million to strengthen the infrastructure at the aerodromes in Quepos, Puerto Jiménez, Tamarindo, Golfito and Drake.

We are going to give security to the aerodromes, we are going to build parking lots for aircrafts and we were also thinking of offering a small terminal for the tourists’ benefit,

explained Enio Rodríguez, director of the entity.

The official pointed out that tourists arriving at these tracks nowadays do not find any type of facility where they can be assisted. As a result, the initiative aims to make a great contribution for the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT). The proposal is the most important Civil Aviation challenge for 2017.

According to the Minister of Tourism, Mauricio Ventura, ICT has proposed in the Technical Council of Civil Aviation to rethink transcendental issues such as the importance of strengthening local airports, so the process is quite ambitious and beneficial for the country.
