Costa Rican best short movies in Festival Shnit

The five international winners from the Shnit Festival will be announced in New York on October 16th. However, two national short films were declared winners of the sixth edition that ended on October 9th.

Nathalie Álvarez Mesén won as Costa Rica best short film for “Asunder”.

The short is about the desire of Nia, along with her cousin Teo, to explore power and sexuality.

The national jury was integrated by Roberto Jaen, winner of the Jury Prize 2015, producer and cultural manager Karolina Hernández and producer Ernesto Jara.

In addition, the documentary film Beauty, Courage and Strength in the occupied West Bank by Glorianna Ximendaz was awarded with a special mention.
