Costa Rican companies are participating in Paris’ food fair

Twelve Costa Rican companies and the Foreign Trade of Costa Rica (PROCOMER) will participate in SIAL Paris 2016, one of the most important fairs in the food industry world, from October 16th to 20th.

Costa Rica’s Food has a great name internationally, thanks to the quality, added value and diversity that it offers. That’s why activities such SIAL, allow us to position our country’s name and to continue with the creation of opportunities for our exporters,”

said Pedro Beirute, general manager of PROCOMER.

Beirute added that Europe has a highly sophisticated population that is demanding specialized, organic, natural, healthy and private label products, which opens up more opportunities for domestic exporters.

The Costa Rican products that the delegation is exhibiting in Paris are: ice pops, mini jellies, dried pineapple, roasted coffee, frozen fruit, canned tuna, dried and canned fruit, juices and fruit concentrates, sauces and dressings, dried cassava, frozen vegetables, canned vegetables, among others.

Costa Rica’s food industry exported a total of $ 1.488 million dollar and 224 million went to the European markets.
