Costa Rican lifeguards will swim with US National Team instructors

Costa Rican beaches and surrounding areas are some of the most beautiful natural places in the world. Lifeguards are an important part of the beaches. Their presence gives peace of mind and they manage to prevent tragedy from ruining days of joy.

For several years. the country has been working on the creation of the Costa Rican Lifeguard Federation, and for this, they have had worldwide professionalization processes and have “swum” with experts.

Less than a month ago, a national representation participated for the first time in Durban South Africa, a biannual event where rescue experts present research, rescue systems and data on drowning prevention and water safety.

The objective of Costa Ricans Juan Carlos Salas (Costa Rican Red Cross) Ariel Lafuente Zamora (Costa Rican Red Cross and Swim Safe Costa Rica) was to collect all possible information on innovation in issues of prevention and water rescue, as well as make “connections” with other federations

And in this work of continuous learning to give security to the bathers of our beaches, on November 14 and 15 there will be a “Clinic of Rescue with Tables” in Playa Tamarindo, Guanacaste. The activity will feature two instructors from California and two coaches from the United States Lifeguard Team. This training will focus on rescue with tables and first aid updates.
