Costa Ricans still need a visa to travel to the US

A false news report has recently been around social media claiming that President Donald Trump signed a law that allows Costa Ricans to visit the United States without a visa.

However, the US Embassy in Costa Rica denied the information on Saturday night through its official Facebook page.

The United States Embassy in Costa Rica is aware of news reports claiming that Costa Rican citizens can now travel to the United States without a visa. Those news are false. Costa Ricans do need a visa to travel to the United States.

We remind all of our followers that travel.state.gov and our web site www.costarica.usembassy.gov are the best sources of information on visas and travel to the United States. We advise potential visa applicants to ignore information from unauthorized sources or unreliable media,

published the Embassy.
