Criminal accusation against BCR deputy manager for alleged simulationfraud

The Public Ethics Office (PEP) criminally accused the Deputy Manager of Finance and Risk of the Bank of Costa Rica (BCR), Leonardo Acuña Alvarado and his wife, Sara Herrera Marcos, for the alleged crime of simulation fraud.
The notary Juan Antonio Mainieri Acuña was also accused, for making the deeds of transfer through which Acuña donated to his wife a property in White Street of Goicoechea, as well as two vehicles (a Porsche Cayenne and a Nissan Murano 2012 models). The donation was made by Acuña on November 17th, when he was already in prison.

The indictment was filed with the Attorney General’s Office on Thursday afternoon.

Also, the PEP is analyzing the other transfers of the other defendants that took place prior to the arrest ordered by the Criminal Court of the Treasury, following the scandal of the Chinese cement.

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) had requested the seizure of the land and cars when Acuña already was already serving preventive time in San Sebastian prison and the assignment was made 17 days before the execution of the accounts and assets of the Deputy Manager banking.

The goods are part of the petition made in order to obtain compensation in the event of social damage against the Costa Rican state by the bank loans of $ 30 million granted to the Chinese cement importer Juan Carlos Bolaños.
