Criminal analyst of the OIJ joined the cementazo commission

María del Carmen Vargas, forensic analyst at the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ), joined the work of the special committee of the Legislative Assembly that investigates the cementazo.

The official joined the team of advisers and legislators last Thursday and works full time, according to the legislator of the National Liberation Party (PLN), Ronny Monge, president of the commission.

Vargas supports in the systematization of the information that the commission has received through documents and hearings, and also in filling gaps.

Her incorporation into the work of the commission was approved by the Full Court on October 30, after the Superior Council of the Judiciary denied the legislators’ appeal.

Monge said Monday that as of this week the legislators and their advisors will concentrate on reading the documents and the minutes.

Congresswoman Patricia Mora, from Frente Amplio, for her part, insisted on requesting an extension to the Legislative Plenary for the delivery of the report due on November 23rd.
