Drought conditions have caused milk production to decrease, on average by 4 liters per cow and experts are predicting that the situation will get worse before it will get better. This is because even with the onset of the rainy season, pastures need at least 22 days to grow back to normal.

The problem of drought during the rainy season has manifested for the two previous years, but is worse this year. The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Gloria Abraham will meet with industry leaders to minimize the possibility of a crisis.
